Nokia, Good Bye? HMD removes Nokia cellphones off sale in all of Europe

HMD began a new stage of development earlier this year and stopped using the Nokia brand on its handsets in favour of using the HMD brand. For the past few months, HMD has been selling smartphones, feature phones, and tablets under the Nokia brand; however, it appears that supplies of those are running low, at least in Europe.

While Nokia-branded smartphones are no longer available on any of the official HMD websites in Europe, they can still be found in HMD stores in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. We anticipate that such areas' availability will likewise run out sooner rather than later.

The Nokia smart and feature phones are still available on the HMD support page. Software support will be provided for these phones, though it is unclear how long it will last.

To be clear, Nokia Corporation—the original Nokia—remains a significant force in the network infrastructure industry and is among the tech industry's largest patent holders. It has filed litigation in the past against a number of smartphone manufacturers, including Samsung, Apple, and members of the BBK group. (*)
